🌹 🎶 Creating Space for Magic

Dear Friend

🌹 🎶 Creating Space for Magic 🎶 🌹
...Listening for Summer's Song....

“Fundamentally, there is just open space, the basic ground, what we really are. Our most fundamental state of mind, before the creation of ego, is such that there is basic openness, basic freedom, a spacious quality; and we have now and have always had this openness.”
- Chögyam Trungpa (1939-1987) Tibetan Buddhist Master

Ah, beautiful summer - the time of endless days and birds dancing across wide sunswept skies. Summer brings a sense of space, inviting us to open up and venture out on holidays, outdoor expeditions, parties, BBQs and picnics.

In summer we shed skins - gone are the coats, feathers, and furs of winter - we allow the breeze to dance over our skin. It's time to lighten the load,
find a little more freedom and play where we can.
Summer's Song will find us where we are, in simple, spacious moments
- we suddenly find ourselves captivated by a bird singing and a baby laughing whilst on a lunch break in the park.

According to Buddhist Teaching, spaciousness and expansiveness is the core of our existence.  Indeed our planet hangs in a vast space, born, according to both sacred and scientific thought, from a big bang of cosmic creativity.
We incubate in the space of the womb and a wise soul once told me that love is giving someone space to grow.

It's a magical paradox that spaciousness is our grounding and unknowing the source of all knowing. We find ourselves and make new discoveries when we are willing to let go, get lost and wander beyond our comfort zones.

So our creative practices - drawing, painting, meditation, singing, dancing, filmmaking, writing - are magical spaces where we can open to inspiration, joy, magic wisdom and... maybe even go bang and birth a new universe! ;)

I'm enjoying a phase of creating space this summer, helped along the way by revisiting Julia Cameron's archetypal guide to creativity, The Artist's Way.
I invite you to take a little moment for a little breath, a little hum or a
little daydream to listen for what summer is singing to you...
Thank you for staying tuned

Wishing you a joyfully spacious summer

Look forward to seeing and singing with soon

Be well, breathe deep and keep singing loudly!
