Being the Song
These special online courses are designed to help you to polish and add some sparkle to your singing skillset - so you can come out shining - whether that's on a stage, in your choir or just in the shower. Small groups guarantee time and space for you to ask questions, experiment creatively and explore your voice in a safe space.
Each week has a different theme and technique for singers to experiment with and practise performing and receiving positive, encouraging feedback.
Aspects of voice work covered include
- Setting up a strong foundation for singing - physically emotionally and mentally
- Storytelling - communicating the who, what, when, where how of a song clearly and creatively
- Authentic expression - allowing ourselves to fully embody and express the feelings and messages of the song.
- Making the song your own - working with variations of tempo, melody, dynamics, timbre, texture to create a truly unique performance
Since November, a special group of singers have been developing their skills with their own choice of new song every six weeks (Salons I-IV)
Salon V will focus on working towards performance and take place in person at Landmark Arts Centre.
